Estrogen, the Microbiome, & Flax
– A new pilot study in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition: Investigating the effect of dietary flaxseed on the gut microbiota and estrogen metabolism.
Purpose: To see how estrogen and flaxseed impact the gut microbiome.
Who can participate: Women who are 20-40 years old, premenopausal, non-smokers, and sedentary to moderately active.
What you will receive: A bone density scan (DXA), body fat measurements, and monetary compensation for completing the study.
