Katja Behrens is from Golden, Colorado. She is working towards obtaining her bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science.

Behrens is working with the Colorado State University Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center (KRNC) to complete her field experience and practicum requirements for her degree. She is writing her thesis on the interactions between plant-based proteins and fertility in women. She has a special interest in gastrointestinal health, hormonal health, fertility, and eating disorders and hopes to become a registered dietitian.

“My favorite part about working at the KRNC is getting to learn from and work alongside very knowledgeable nutrition and health professionals,” said Behrens. “I love getting to see the happiness and life-changing health improvements that clients experience by working with the RDs to reach their lifestyle and wellness goals.”

The Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center is a part of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition in CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.
