KRNC Student Spotlight Heather Nereson

Her immediate goal is to obtain a dietetic internship in order to become a Registered Dietitian. She currently works in Dr. Laura Bellows’ laboratory researching the future of nutrition and agriculture. In the future, Nereson would like to focus on farm-to-table initiatives by incorporating her agricultural background and becoming an advocate for the interdependence of the two sectors. She hopes to use the clinical setting as a platform to correct consumer misconceptions about agriculture and help the general public become more educated in this area.

“The KRNC practicum allows students to apply nutrition in the clinical, community, outreach, and culinary settings to give a broad overview of the possibilities of a career in this area. It has been the capstone of my undergraduate studies by being able to use my hours of studying in a practical way, which has had a significant impact,” said Nereson.

The Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center is in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, part of CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.
