Outstanding School of Social grad Lara Arndt relied on the support of faculty and nonprofit systems, as well as her own perseverance to complete her degree at Colorado State University.
Making a positive impact in peoples’ lives is what students in the School of Social Work at Colorado State University do best. This spring semester, four students completed their sophomore practicum at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County, where they were matched with a mentee and met weekly within pandemic guidelines.

Colorado State University School of Social Work doctoral student Shivani Kaushik has been selected to receive a fellowship from the office of CSU’s Vice President for Research, to support excellence in graduate research and promote interdisciplinary work across campus.
Using social work research to advance equity in social work practice is a passion for CSU Master of Social Work graduate Quinn Grace Hafen (they/them). Hafen is the recipient of CSU's College of Health and Human Sciences Research Day award for Equity and Social Justice Category-Distinction in Graduate Research, as well as the CHHS Graduate Student Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award.
Kelly Maycumber, field education program coordinator, brings tremendous dedication and a sense of humor to her administrative professional role in Colorado State University's School of Social Work.
Charlotte Bright knew that only a very special job could lure her away from her 13-year career and associate dean position at the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore.
