The Colorado State University Avenir Museum and the Department of Design and Merchandising are pleased to introduce Anna Hall as the newest member of the Avenir team. She will serve as a graduate teaching assistant working with Avenir Curator and Assistant Professor Paula Alaszkiewicz. Hall’s responsibilities in Fall 2023 include assisting in the AM460 Historic Textiles class and in museum exhibitions.
Hall was raised in Minnesota and found her passion for art and fashion at a young age. After graduating from high school, she attended Iowa State University to pursue her dual degree in apparel merchandising and design and art and visual culture. Hall further developed her love for textiles during her undergraduate studies by becoming a textile science tutor and founding the Textile Exploration Club. She additionally exhibited her designs in multiple fashion shows and completed an internship at The Row and Abercrombie & Fitch.
Industry experience
After graduation, Hall accepted an assistant apparel design position at Abercrombie & Fitch and moved to Columbus, Ohio. Through her industry experience, she gained a deeper appreciation for the design process and the important role of textiles. She is excited to use this insight in her role as a graduate student, teaching assistant, and Avenir team member.
“I am thrilled to be pursuing my master’s in apparel and merchandising at CSU because of the resources in the Avenir Museum and the community around it,” Hall said. “I plan to become an educator in the field of fashion, art, and design and I am so thankful for the experience I will gain in the next two years that will help me reach my goals.”
When Hall is not focused on fashion and textiles, she likes to spend time with her pit bulls, Ziggy and Jax. She also enjoys spending time in nature, weightlifting, and developing her illustration skills.
