The 37th Annual CSU Homecoming 5K Race, coming up on Saturday, Oct. 14, is organized by the Department of Health and Exercise Science. Community members, students, children, alumni and their families enjoy running or walking in this event as part of the Homecoming weekend festivities.

This year, we have a new location, Hughes Stadium, drawing on the traditions and memories of a CSU landmark. The race is a key piece of the Homecoming and Family Weekend activities.

All proceeds from the race support the Heart Disease Prevention Program, the exceptional outreach program directed by Tiffany Lipsey. The HDPP screens people for the presence or likely risk of heart disease and promotes healthy lifestyle changes. A strong focus is preventing heart disease in firefighters, a frequent cause of premature death in this profession. Currently, the HDPP serves 24 firefighting departments across Colorado. This program also provides unmatched learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.
