The 40th Annual Colorado State University Homecoming 5K was unlike any other 5K that came before it. The race was held in an entirely virtual format, allowing runners from all over the globe to participate and submit their times between September 20 and October 3.
In sticking with the CSU’s zero-waste mission, the Department of Health and Exercise Science aims to reuse and recycle all the left-over shirts from the Homecoming 5K in ways that benefit the community. A local fashion designer is using them to make masks for essential workers and the community.
