The public is invited to an online, interactive Generations Seminar focused on fraud trends, identification, prevention and reporting, taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m.
A team of researchers at Colorado State University and Texas A&M University recently explored the locations of “informal learning institutions” such as museums and libraries, and the implications for public access to science.
“We think all of these tools can help students retain and elaborate upon and expand their understanding of their learning and learned material. We are taking a design thinking approach to help students advance their skill-set in learning.”
White’s experience in the Higher Education Leadership doctoral program has allowed her to take her work as a community college professional to the next level, focusing on equity and higher education as a social system.
“My biggest accomplishment in my career was writing and co-authoring 19 books on topics that I wanted to impact, from more effective and creative post-secondary instruction to promoting deeper learning about compelling issues that often divided communities.”
Through her role as an organizer for the Equity and Possibilities in Construction program of Colorado Jobs with Justice, Armendariz works to influence the lives of women and people of color every day.
Hack the Gates, a yearlong effort to reimagine college admissions co-sponsored by a Colorado State University center, culminates Aug. 4 with a final webinar and the release of eight briefs written by scholars across the country.
The online graduate certificate is designed to educate those who want to help first-generation, low-income, and other diverse or nontraditional students get into post secondary education.
“It’d be wonderful if people picked up on some of these events and inspirational ideas and had new conversations about the challenges ahead and how they could proceed. If you want to stay open to change, you have to consider what people are doing in all parts of the world.”
