CSU's Design and Merchandising Fashion Show is springing back to life as an in-person celebration. The presentation of the 2022 senior capstone portfolios is entitled “All in Bloom,” complete with a groovy, ’70s inspired theme. The show is at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 6 in the stadium club room at Canvas Stadium.

The Avenir Museum has the world's largest collection of garments, original pattern pieces, and memorabilia from famous designer Richard Blackwell. Now, the Avenir Museum and the Department of Design and Merchandising are using 2D and 3D digital technologies to ensure the collection is preserved for generations to come.
Colorado State University Ph.D. student Kate Schmidt wants to make fashionable, functional winter sports clothing for women. She absolutely would love to see her Girl Powder collection – a portfolio of 11 skiing looks that comprises one of three exhibits at the Avenir Museum – all over the slopes of Colorado and beyond.
Seniors studying product development in the apparel and merchandising major in the CSU Department of Design and Merchandising showcased senior projects with a reception and awards ceremony in December. The work was part of the AM 475 course and served as the senior capstone experience led by Assistant Professor Kristen Morris.
Kristen Morris, assistant professor in CSU’s Department of Design and Merchandising, won the ATEXINC Award for Excellence in Marketable Textile Design in the professional category at the virtual International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) conference.
Last year, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSU Department of Design and Merchandising students brainstormed creative ways to showcase their work while unable to meet in person. The solution was a virtual show highlighting student work and the senior class of students in the Interior Architecture and Design Program.
Eunwoo Sam Jun has come a long way to get to graduation. Jun graduates this fall with a degree in interior architecture and design and is a first-generation college student, an international student from South Korea, a veteran, and an undergraduate researcher.
Vee Martinez is an unstoppable graduate from the Colorado State University Department of Design and Merchandising’s Apparel and Merchandising Program. As a first-generation student in the merchandising concentration, she’s proudly broken down barriers and faced every challenge along the way with grace and positivity.
Through her passions for Girl Scouts and sewing, first-year apparel and merchandising student, Elizabeth Gumper, was granted the opportunity to attend a national conference and launched her own resource website.
