The Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center would like to highlight Jenny Lange as our Student Spotlight for December! Originally from Seal Beach, California, Lange is a first-year graduate student studying Food Science and Nutrition. She is currently involved in a volunteer study on childhood nutrition and behavioral economics at the Aspen Grille. Lange is interested in overweight and obesity interventions, specifically in the area of mental health aspects in generating healthy weight loss.
Her career plans ultimately lead to getting a Registered Dietitian certification and the opportunity to work at an outpatient wellness facility. There, she would be able to teach classes, counsel one-on-one, and use her knowledge of nutrition to help people achieve all of their health and wellness goals.
Lange’s favorite part of working with the KRNC is “the versatility in the role of a practicum student… I love that each week I get to do and see every aspect of what it really means to be a Registered Dietitian.” She also loves that the program is largely based on what you want to do and see, from formatting recipes, designing materials, and teaching cooking classes to shadowing the Diabetes Prevention Program.
