Brittany Humphreys is from San Diego, California. In May 2021, she graduated with a B.S. in nutrition and food science with a concentration in dietetics and nutrition management from Colorado State University. She is currently seeking employment in the healthcare sector and looking forward to being matched to a Dietetic Internship in the fall. She is especially interested in eating disorder treatment, prevention of cardiovascular disease and type II diabetes, as well as food science.

Her favorite part of working at the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center was the opportunity to observe the registered dietitians make an impact on people’s lives. “It was invaluable, and that’s not something most nutrition students get to see in undergrad,” she said. “Even in a 30-minute online session, the RDs could empower clients with the knowledge, motivation, and companionship their clients needed to make meaningful changes towards a healthier, happier life.”

Additionally, she was introduced to the Health At Every Size® (HAES®) philosophy during her time at the KRNC. “It is so extremely important that healthcare professionals (and the entire industry) provide care based on a person’s overall health and well-being with less emphasis on body weight, and this is a philosophy I will carry with me throughout my career.”

The Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center is a part of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition in CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.
