A panel of CHHS graduates currently serving on the CHHS Emerging Leaders Council will discuss skills that employers are looking for, expectations and goals for your first job, and managing finances. The event is broken into three sections, and each section will last one hour.

  • The Secret Skills Employers Look For and How to Develop Them
  • Realistic Expectations for Your First Job and Goal Setting
  • Managing Your Finances: Budgeting, Conquering Student Loan Debt, and Planning for Long-Term Financial Goals

Because the panelists will answer questions specific to graduation and what to expect in your first job, the event is aimed towards juniors and seniors, however, sophomores and freshmen are welcome to attend.

“We think everyone should attend because this is such an incredible free opportunity to develop as a young professional and have your questions answered,” said Savanah Cheatham, a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council. “This will also be a great networking opportunity as the panel is made up of CSU graduates who have been successful in their fields.”

Registration is free but required. To register, visit https://colostate.joinhandshake.com/events/125664/share_preview.

The McCubbin Leadership Event is sponsored by Dean Jeff McCubbin and his wife Debbie McCubbin.
