CSU students, C.B. & Potts celebrate sesquicentennial with beer tapping Sept. 26

Just in time to kick off Homecoming Week festivities and the 150th anniversary celebration of Colorado State University, C.B. & Potts Brewery has brewed a new beer. Great Wet IPA 6.2% was created in collaboration with members of the CSU senior class of the Fermentation Science and Technology program and Celastrina Hop Farms.

Great Wet logoGreat Wet IPA will be released Thursday, Sept. 26, at a tapping party from 5 to 8 p.m. at the C.B. & Potts Brewery and Taproom at 1831 E. Mulberry.

The tapping party kicks off a fundraising initiative for FST, with $1 from every pint sold to be donated back to the CSU program. This new IPA will also be on tap for a limited time at C.B. & Potts Foothills Mall and at Collindale Golf Course locations.

Great Wet IPA is a pineapple mango Wet Hop Milkshake IPA, brewed with locally sourced hops from Celastrina Hop Farm in Fort Collins, malt from Root Shoot Malting in Loveland, and all-natural fresh purees from Source of Nature in Wellington.

The Great Wet IPA logo depicts the iconic Potts Great White Shark that hangs proudly at Potts Foothills. Throughout the years, the shark has kept a watchful eye over thirsty guests since Potts began brewing in Fort Collins in 1996.

The FST program is in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, which is part of CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.
