Srijesh Pradhan, a graduate student in the Department of Construction Management, recently presented his M.S. thesis research in just under three minutes as part of the Vice President for Research Graduate Fellowship Three-Minute Challenge.
Research Focused
Inspired by an international competition called the Three Minute Thesis, the Three-Minute Challenge asks CSU graduate students to explain their research to the public with the use of only one static PowerPoint slide. Approximately 40 Colorado State University graduate students participated in the Challenge, based on their ability to effectively communicate complex research concepts at the Graduate Student Showcase held in November 2019.
Pradhan and fellow competitors represented 7 CSU colleges and 23 disciplines, and presented their research and scholarly projects to a panel of six judges consisting of a diverse array of community, industry, and university faculty and administration leaders.
Vice President for Research Fellows selected from field
Out of the 40 competitors, 12-15 will be invited to become the next VPR Fellowship cohort. Fellows will be eligible for up to $4,000 in scholarship and travel support as well as opportunities to participate in professional development workshops, mentorship, engagement opportunities and leadership.
Pradhan plans to continue developing his research presentation skills here at CSU. He has been accepted into the collaborative Ph.D. in Construction Engineering and Management program, where he will be co-advised by Hussam Mahmoud, Ph.D., Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and Erin Arneson, Ph.D., Department of Construction Management.
The Department of Construction Management is part of CSU’s College of Health and Human Sciences.
