Kate Quillin of Manitou Springs graduated from Colorado State University with her B.A. in social work and sociology in 2009. In the years since, she has traveled across the world as part of the Peace Corps to advocate for people facing discrimination and abuse. Stone, who is from Noble, Oklahoma, was attending college in Oklahoma when she was involved in a severe car accident causing a traumatic brain injury.
